This is an introduction to baseball in a fun, safe, and supportive team environment. OYAA uses a combination of coach pitch and hitting from a tee in 6U.
Equipment needed: Baseball glove, helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded cleats (soccer or football cleats are fine for this age), gray baseball pants.
OYAA will provide a hat and jersey, baseballs, and a team bat.
Practices will start the week of 4/22/2024.
Games start 5/19/2024 (1st weekend games will be on a Sunday; remaining weekend games are on Saturdays). Games will not be played on Memorial Day weekend.
Fridays and Sundays are generally reserved for make-up games. No Sunday games will start before noon.
The season consists of 1 or 2 weekday games (Monday or Wednesday) and 1 Saturday game over 6 playing weeks for up to 14 total games. There will be no games Memorial Day weekend or the weekend of June 7-9, 2024.
Picture day will be scheduled in early June.
The T-ball season will conclude by June 28, 2024.
Teams for 6U T-Ball/Coach Pitch are formed by school attendance areas as much as possible. Requests, though not guaranteed, will be considered.

Coaches will continue teaching the fundamental skills necessary for further development of the young ballplayer.

All players in the 10u division must attend an evaluation. Players will then be drafted by the coaches to form teams in this division
The 10U Division affords those players whose baseball skill sets develop at a different pace the opportunity to enhance their skills and to fall in love with the game. The focus is to introduce strategy and team play with further refinement of the fundamental skills of baseball. Played on 65' bases and 46' mounds.
Equipment needed: Baseball glove, helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded baseball cleats, baseball pants, socks & belt (color determined by coach), and protective cup.
OYAA will provide a hat, jersey, and baseballs.
Draft for 10u will occur on a date to be confirmed after evaluations
Practices can start as early as 4/13/2024.
Games will start the week of 5/13/2024.
Picture day will be scheduled in early June.
Fridays and Sundays are generally reserved for make-up games. A weekday rainout will generally be made up on Friday. Saturday rainouts will generally be played on Sundays. No Sunday games will start before noon.
Teams can expect to play one or two weeknight games and one Saturday game per week. Plan on up to three doubleheaders - up to 16 total games.
The last regular season scheduled game will be 6/19/2024.
The end of season tournament will start 6/22/2024 with the league tournament championship game played on 6/28/2024.
The 10U All-star game is tentatively scheduled for 7/11/2024.
10U Advanced:
There will be an opportunity for selected players to play at a more competitive level after the season has concluded. Details will be determined after the coaches meeting. Information will be shared by the coaches and coordinators when it becomes available.

This division plays on 70' bases with 50' mounds. The players in this age group should have a solid understanding of the game. The 12u Majors division is designed to be fun, competitive, and higher quality baseball.
Equipment needed: Baseball glove, helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded baseball cleats, baseball pants, socks & belt (color determined by coach), and protective cup.
Each player is provided a team hat and jersey.
Evaluations are tentatively scheduled for April 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Scioto Ridge Elementary School. Arrive early to check in. Be on the field at 6.
Rainout Session: April 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Scioto Ridge Elem School. Arrive early to check in. Be on the field at 6:00 PM.
