Registration for 6U (t-ball), 8U (coach pitch), and 10U (player pitch) opens February 1! 

Our league emphasizes four key things:

  4.   Rules heavily tailored to the physical abilities of each age group

Player Eligibility

  • Minimum age: 5 years old on or before April 30
  • Registration system automatically places participants in the appropriate division based on age

Fee: $120 with early bird discount

Learning Objectives

Description: Introduction to baseball in a fun, safe, and supportive team environment. Focus is on fundamentals and basic rules of the game. Rules are specifically designed to emphasize pace, young player attention span, and variety of exposure to different positions.

Equipment needed: Baseball glove, baseball helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded cleats (soccer or football cleats are fine for this age). OYAA provides a jersey, hat, and baseballs. Players bring your own pants (color chosen at the team level), belt, socks.

Schedule:

    • Practices start: Week of 4/20/2026
    • Games start: Week of 5/18/2026
    • Make-up games: Fridays and Sundays (no Sunday games before noon)
    • Season: 1 or 2 weekday games and 1 Saturday game over 6 playing weeks (up to 14 total games)
    • No games: Memorial Day weekend
    • Picture day: TBD
    • Season concludes: June 27, 2026

Team formation: By school attendance areas as much as possible. Requests to play for a coach or with another player will be considered but not guaranteed. NOTE: Rosters do not impact what locations will be used for practice/games.

6U Field Locations (subject to change):

    • Arrowhead Elementary School
    • Alum Creek Elementary School
    • Liberty Park
    • Based on the number of teams, additional fields may be added

8U Coach Pitch

Fee: $130 with early bird discount

Learning Objectives

Description: Continued focus on fundamentals and basic rules of the game. Hitting from coach pitchers is introduced. Rules emphasize pace and are specifically tailored to learning, developing proper habits and the physical limitations of players this age. See rules link above for specifics.

Equipment needed: Baseball glove, baseball helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded cleats (soccer or football cleats are fine for this age). OYAA provides a jersey, hat, and baseballs. Players bring your own pants (color chosen at the team level), belt, socks.

Schedule:

    • Practices start: Week of 4/20/2026
    • Games start: Week of 5/18/2026
    • Make-up games: Fridays and Sundays (no Sunday games before noon)
    • Season: 1 or 2 weekday games and 1 Saturday game over 6 playing weeks (up to 14 total games)
    • No games: Memorial Day weekend
    • Picture day: Early June (TBD)
    • Season concludes: June 27, 2026
    • End of season tournament: Starts 6/25/2026, championship game on 6/28/2026
    • All-star game: May be scheduled after the season concludes pending coach/player availability (more information from coaches in June)

Learning Objectives

Description: Focus on strategy and team play with further refinement of fundamental skills. Played on 65' bases and 46' mounds. Introduces player pitching, with rules designed to maximize action (no walks) and to fit the physical capabilities of players this age. See rules section for details.

Equipment needed: Baseball glove, baseball helmet, USA Baseball bat, molded baseball cleats, and protective cup. OYAA provides a jersey, hat, and baseballs. Players bring your own pants (color chosen at the team level), belt, socks.

Schedule:

    • Evaluations: TBD at 1:00 PM at Liberty Park (all players must attend)
    • Draft: Date to be confirmed after evaluations
    • Practices start: As early as 4/13/2026
    • Games start: Week of 5/11/2026
    • Make-up games: Fridays and Sundays (no Sunday games before noon)
    • Season: 1 or 2 weekday games and 1 Saturday game per week (up to 16 total games)
    • No games: Memorial Day weekend
    • Picture day: TBD
    • Season concludes: June 23, 2026
    • End of season tournament: Starts 6/25 - 6/28, weather permitting
    • All-star game: May be scheduled after the season concludes (more information from coaches in June)

Team formation: Players drafted by coaches after evaluations. NOTE: Rosters do not impact what locations will be used for practice/games.

10U Field Locations (subject to change):

    • Liberty Park

OYAA is not offering 12U for 2026. If you are looking for a 12U league this spring, please contact the commissioner at eermie@oyaa.org. He is happy to help guide you to other area leagues for this age group.
