OYAA Soccer Referee Training - Sign-ups now open for Spring 2025

OYAA will offer TWO in-person training classes to prepare for the Spring 2025 season.

-- Referees must attend 1 class to be eligible to officiate games

-- Games begin Saturday, April 12. Season ends May 17th.

-- A referee must be 12 years old (or older) by Friday, April 11, 2025.

Who Should Attend the In-person training class?

* NEW Referees - the Spring 2025 season will your first experience as a referee +

* Returning Referees with 1-2 seasons of experience in the OYAA Soccer Program ~

* Referees with 3+ seasons of experience AND/OR have the USSF Referee Badge ^

NOTES:

+ New Referees must attend one training class to be eligible for the OYAA soccer Sp'25 season.

~ Returning Referees who have worked 1 (Fall '24) or 2 (Sp'24 & F'24) seasons must attend one class to be eligible for the OYAA soccer Spring 2025 season.

^ Referees with 3+ seasons AND/OR who have the USSF Referee Badge are asked to attend the first part (6:20 to 7:30 PM )of either class as a program refresher and learn about new updates.  Eligible referees will receive an email from OYAA with more details.

Referee Shirts & Whistles
Referees will be asked to purchase a game-day referee shirt. Cost is $12.00. Referees who purchased the new Black Moisture wicking shirt in past do not need to purchase another shirt.  If you are a USSF grade 8 (or higher) referee you can wear your referee shirt (and badge) and you do not need an OYAA issued referee shirt unless you want to order one.

Whistles - Fox40 Classic whistle will be available for purchase. Cost is $6.00

Game Signup
Schedules will be posted on the Arbiter Sports site for referees to pick dates, times and locations that work for their personal schedules. Referees will learn how to create an account and sign up for games as part of the training classes.
